i havent seen it... whats it about cuz i have heard bad things about it.... like how it is about prostitues and gay guys and poor people who cant pay theyre rent RENT is a rock-opera loosely based on Puccini's "La Boheme". There aren't any prostitutes; however, Mimi works in a strip club, which is shown for one minute during the entire movie. Angel and Collins are gay, but Angel is a drag queen and it's actually pretty funny. Maureen is bisexual and broke up with Mark to be with Joanne. It is never made clear whether or not Joanne is bisexual or a lesbian. Now, on to the whole inability to pay the rent thing...Roger and Mark live in a loft on Avenue A, which is owned by their former best friend Benny. Benny marries a rich woman and turns into a slumlord. He originally says that Roger and Mark can stay in the loft for free, but when Maureen (Mark's ex) organizes a protest against Benny's latest business venture, he turns into an ass and demands that Roger and Mark pay the rent, which he had formerly said didn't exist. Overall, it's a great movie, and more information can be found at www.siteforrent.com. ~Nat

^^Very, very good point. The concept isn't about sexuality, it's more about finding true love, whether it be with a member of the same sex or the opposite. Sexual orientation is really not a large part of the movie, it's more of a fact that's just THERE.

To each her own. Let's just leave it at that before we end up sparking an argument.

"To each her own" means that everyone's entitled to her own opinion. You stated yours, and I stated mine. They were different, therefore, "to each her own". Hope that helped!
