Why the Lifetime Network shouldn’t be canceling Strong Medicine
I’m here to state my opinion on why they shouldn’t cancel Lifetime Networks hit TV Show Strong Medicine. Strong Medicine is the only medical drama on TV that’s generally
about all the health issues that women face everyday without being as gorgy as ER. With being mostly about women doctors. Strong Medicine has been on the air for six years now and is pulling in over a million viewers every Sunday. Along with passing along useful information that everyone should know you can retaliate to at lest to one of the main characters in the show one way or another if not all of them. I think Lifetime Network is making a big mistake by canceling it. It’s a great show for teens and adults by showing you can make it through any thing if you try hard enough and fight for what you think it right.
For example lets take the main character in the show Dr. Luisa Delgado. Her mom died of breast cancer when she was five and her dad left when she was born. After that she pretty much lived on the streets she got pregnant at sixteen had a baby put her self through medical school while raising a young child and working two jobs. Opened a free clinic in south Philly merged her practice in with Rittenhouse hospital when her clinic went under and what is now known as the Rittenhouse woman’s health center (RWHC).She was raped by the chief of surgery and almost destroyed her life but got through it. Her mentally in sound patient shot her boy friend when he took the bullet for her and died. Then after all that she met some one else and was shot on her way home from work because she wouldn’t give up her engagement ring to the mugger and all most died laying in the alley. She got married then her billionaire husband got arrested for insider trading but all charges were dropped and Lu got pregnant. They had to sell there house because Jonas her husband wanted to pay back some of the people that he had stocks with. Then with all the drama she had endured in her life they went to look at a house and turned on a light switch that was in basement and the furnace and the house exploded and they were stuck in the basement with Lu being two weeks away from having the baby she hemorrhaged when the explosion happened and her husband had to do a c section on her with his guidance from Lu so there baby and Lu wouldn’t die the police and Lu’s partner at the RWHC came and helped her husband finish the c section and both mother and child survived. If that’s not a inspiration to everyone I don’t know what is.
With that said they should really keep on making new episodes for generations to come. It’s a grate show with dedicated viewers and if ER has lasted as long as it has why can’t Strong Medicine? I have heard of a lot of young women that this show has made them decide to go in to the medical filed including me which one day there’s going to be a lot more woman doctors thanks to this show. The Lifetime Network should really think about what there losing from canceling the show. It could really last for at last several more years. This show gives you a lot of hope and is really worth keeping it on the air with making new episodes. Thank you for your time.
