ok i'm taking the challenge ;D,it's gonna be an e.r fic, probrably a carby one, it will be set in this season (12) if I'm unupdated it's 'cause i'm from latin america.

summary:

abby and luka had been seaniking around for about a month or so, abby thought she was happy again with luka, but there still was a part of her that was stucked on him, that hadn't moved on in 2 chances she was begging to think maybe he was the one she wanted the one she loves, but things were great with luka, and John was nowhere to be seen; yes, the guy she was still stucked on was no other that John carter, the one who dumped her over a freaking letter, the one who returned with a pregnant girl, and yet she just never got over him, and, honestly, a big part of her doesn't want to forget the one man that has been there for here no matter what even when she didn't want him there if she needed him, he'd be there... more than her boyfriend he was her friend, her confident the one one person she trusted with every fiber of her being and yet he had left, to be with hes, kem, she couldnt blame him maybe she didn't mean as much to him as he did to her, but those thoughts still hit her hard in the pit of her stomach, 'cause she knew that it wasn't true but still she just keep them out of her head.
Luka had no idea on how she felt about Carter and she wasn't going to tell him anytime soon not until she was in a dead end street and her only way out would be to tell him the truth.

chapter 1: what's it gonna be?

Abby was staring out of the window in her apartment Luka was infront of her, holding a velvet box in his hands she didn't notice anything until his words took her out of her thought and back into reality.
"abby, willl you marry me?"
she looked at him in shocked, her heart said no, but her head said yes, and for once in a long time she went with her heart.
"Luka,..."
"so what's it gonna be abby? yes or no?"

chapter 2: Carter?

"luka..."

she looks at him in those sweet eyes of his that sweep her off of her feet every time, but she looked away and said

"I'm sorry... it's just that... I'm kinda still stucked on--"

"jake?" Luka cuts her off sounding a bit upset that she would prefer a med student that dumped her over him...
"no, it's... Carter"

"what? Abby he left almost 1 year ago, he's with kem... you know maybe this just shouldn't have happend.."

Luka begins to get up ready to leave

"I'm sorry Luka I never mented to hurt you.."

"yah, but you did"

Luka opens the door really dissapointed at Abby and he sees... Carter; with 2 suitcases around him, like if he just got there, Luka looks at him wanting to punch him in the face but it wasn't his fault so it wouldn't change a thing...

"good luck"

"Carter! what the hell are you doing here?"

he notices anger in her voice and just smiles and looks down

"I think we need to talk Abby"

"what about?"

"about.... us"

chapter 3:plane crash: part 1

Carter's POV:

ugh, I never liked planes,specially this one, but after that kem cheated on me, I knew I had to get back here, the only place I could ever call home...
I talked to kerry and she said I could have my job back, that she needed doctors asap, it just fell right out of the sky, and my memories with abby that had been hanging in my head for a while now, maybe we could talk, and she would forgive me for what I did to her, I wish we could get back together, but she wouldn't take me back, not after kem and the baby, so maybe we could just, go back to the way it used to be... best friends.

"we should be landing in 30 minutes"

the pilot mentions I only nod and think even more of Abby, could she have changed, maybe she's with someone... well at least it wasn't jake that was for sure but the only thought of her beeing with another man just sickens me in the pit of my stomach, but it isn't her fault, it's mine for leaving

we began to throught some turbulence nad the pilots yells at me

"the plane isn't responding we're going down!!!"
"mayday!, mayday!"

I stand up:

"what the hell do you mean--"

I fell to the ground, we ARE going down

"now, I know what you meant!"
"hold on, it's only gonna get worse!"
"what do you mean by--"

I fell to the ground again, and my head stars to hurt

"aww, I really need to stop asking that question!"

when I got up we were hitting the ground, I fell uncouncius to the floor, the nest thing I know I'm waking up in a hospital bed, Abby was sitting next to me I have a tube down my throath and Susan walks in

"hey, you're intubated, do know what happend?"
I make signs with my hands letting her know my answer

"you were in a plane crash, you had--"

abby wakes up loking a little groggy she looks at me
tears forming in her eyes but she's good at holding them back.

"carter! - she looks at susan - when did he wake up?"

"he just did, I was about to tell him how lucky he is of surviving"

I try to gesture trying to get something to write on; Abby hands me a note pad I write down 3 things in 3 diferent pages; I gave 2 to susan and the other to Abby

"no, he died in th scene" - susan says-

"we shoud we extubating tomorrow if every thing goes well" she continued, I knew she was holding out on me but how could I say it, or write it, I write down:
'how long was I out?'

abby jumps in," two weeks"

great, that might mean some neurologicall damage wich isn't a good thing at all,'is there any neuro damage?' I wrote

"no,mmm, But I think if there was you woudn't be here writting to us right?"

I would have normally laugh at this comment but with the tube I cant so I just smile, I look at aby and susna must have got the clue 'cause she left right away

"yeah, I was here the whole time carter"

'why? I mean after all that I did to you...'

she reads it thinks for a bit then says something so low I couldn't hear it

'what?'

"I....don't know"

Introduction
Luka knew he was thinking crazy, but he could not help it. He loved Sam. They had moved in three months ago, and his life was perfect. He finally had a life worth living, and this was all thanks to Sam and Alex. He knew that they were his second chance at a family, and he thought that Danijela had sent them to him. He definitely was not going to ruin this. He had been going out with Sam for a little over a year and had been good friends with Alex for even longer. He could not help thinking about her every minute of every hour of every day. He waited until he could see her, hold her, touch her. When the time came, he reveled in the moment. He loved her and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He knew exactly what he wanted, and he wanted it now. He knew they could overcome anything. Hell he had even cheated on her and they were still together. Tonight, he would finally do something he had been putting off for weeks: asking Alex if he could marry Sam.

chapter 4: plane crash: part 2

carter's POV:

"I... don't know"

suddenly a tear came down her cheek, I put my hand on her face and dry it away she rests her head in my hand

"don't do that again... please"

'how could I? it's not like I plane to get in another plane crash any time soon'

she laughs at my sarcasm, at least I can make her smile again, like she used to, maybe I should just let her move on; but how would I know if I did the right thing? I'll haunt me for ever; I have to tell her why I came back.

'abby, there's something you need to know'

"what is it?"

'I came back 'cause of you, the one thing I couldn't leave behind, the one that was always on my thoughts no matter who I was with, and when kem cheated on me, she came up with the excuse that I was still in love with you,well, maybe I am, but it was very important for me that you knew and understand this'

"what? kem cheated on you?"

great she just blocked out every thing I had to say to her!. For now, let's see if she brings it up

'yeah, and she used you as her excuse'

"what? why? what the hell did I ever did to her for her to take it out on you?"

'hey, I'm not a kid, and besides I already explained you why, but if you don't wanna hear it, fine'

"Carter, there's something you need to know too..."

'well?'

"since a while now, I've been dating luka, and I'm very happy and there might be a chance that I still love you too, but I can't do anything about it 'cause I'm with Luka...I'm sorry"

'it's ok'

she stared at me wondering if I'm telling the truth, I put up my poker face and she leaves after a while.


It's been 1 week since I woke up, I've been extubated for 5 days now and I'm finally going home, I realize that Abby has been coming at night when she thinks I'm asleep, but I only stay awake so I could see her once more, since we talked in the hospital she hasn't stopped by which I miss since she was the one that read me like an open book, which is a good hing sometimes and a bad thing when you're trying to lie to her , but that doesn't happened very often, with Abby it's better to tell the truth and get kicked than to lie and life with out her.

I'm finally out of the hospital, and when I'm going home I realize I have no house, I gave gamma's out to the foundation, and the apartment that I bought for kem and me was sold so I decided to see if that one person could help me out, she'll probably won't, but hell, it's worth the try considering that I could spend the night homeless

Well, her I am;I raise my hand to knock but I just couldn't, when I'm gonna try again the door opens and Luka comes out

"good luck"

"Carter! what the hell are you doing here?"

I notice the anger in her voice and just smile and look down

"I think we need to talk Abby"

"what about?"

"about.... us"

chapter 5:chit chat and coffee

"Carter... this.. really isn't a good time"

"Abby..."

"come in"

she closes the door behind him

"sit, do you want some coffee?"- he sits down at the table where she was eating dinner with Luka.

"yeah"- he nods

"two cremes, no sugar ,right?"

"yeah" - he nods again

"so, you and Luka are together?"- he asks making a concern face

"were"

"why did you guys break up?"

"same reason we did last time.." - she sits down and puts the cup of coffee in front of him, stares at him for a while then she looks at him sweetly

"you"

she takes a sip of her coffee and looks away

"I'm sorry... for destroying your relationship"

"doesn't matter... guess it just wasn't meant to be"

"so, how did I get mix up in this?"

she looks around the apartment as she speaks

"well... let's say I was stuck-ed and a very anxious for commitment Luka, wouldn't take it"

"anxious for commitment?(Carter laughs) like marriage?"

she stays quiet letting him know her answer

"you remember what you said in the hospital?"

"yeah" - she looks up at him, they just stare at each other before Carter speaks

"was it truth?"

"yeah, it was... what you said.. was it true too?"

he looks up and says:

"yes"

they stare at each other the desire flowing in they're eyes, and the love they've been holding for each other, suddenly they're kissing passionately, letting the other know how much they missed each other.

They went into the bedroom and made love letting everything behind them: Luka, the hospital, Kem, nothing matters now.

Chapter 6:Tiffany trauma

Luka's POV:

in County:

god, its only 9 am and we're already swamped, how can this get any worse?

"Luka M.V.A eta 5 minutes"

malik says and I turned to look at him

"how many critic's?"

"10 but 3 are going to mercy"

"Chuny how many can we take?"

"5"

Great, just when I thought this day couldn't get any worse I see Abby and Carter coming in hugging each other, he just came back and they're together again!; couldn't she act like if she cares of what we had?

"nice score Carter"

frank tells from the admit desk just reminding me of how mad I fell"

Abby looks at Frank

"shut up frank"

"Luka?"

"mm?"

"the MVA?"

"oh, yeah, let's clear the trauma rooms and every one get ready, we have work to do"

malik turns and runs to the others members of the staff to let them know about the trauma, since there are 2 other members that don't know yet and we need them I went in to tell them.

I open the door and see them kissing and I just wanna go up to Carter and kick his ass, but I can't so I clear my throat to let them know I'm in the room

they quickly split up and Abby says looking down to the floor:

"we have an MVA eta..."

I look down to my watch to see how much time we have before the action starts

"NOW!"

I say and went off to get my trauma gown, masks and gloves and go out to wait for the ambulances to come in, Carter, Abby, Susan, Pratt, Ray and neela come out to, my mind drifts off to how much time it has passed since we first met memories coming to mind

FLASHBACK:

I was standing in font of the tiffany store looking at engagement rings,'cause tonight I'm gonna propose to Abby, and hopefully she'll say yes.

"how may I help you sir?"

a young girl comes up to me wearing a shirt with 'tiffany engraved on it and her name right below it I guess she works here so maybe she could help me

"yes, how much does that one cost?"

pointing to one on the left of the window

"that's a beautiful one it costs 985.00$"

"I'll take it, miss"

"your girlfriend will me pleased"

END OF FLASHBACK

"Kovac!"

I look at Ray who's the one that doesn't call me Luka by this time, well him and neela.

"what have we got?"

"ruptured aorta" ray says without stopping compressions on his patient

"trauma 2"

"this one has a..."

"she's crashing!"

neela says an I go up to her

"let's get her in trauma one"

I'm taking my gloves off after sending the last patient up to the O.R, this day definitely couldn't possibly get worse than it already is

'you gotta stop saying that, because every time you say it it gets worse'

a voice said in my head I just ignore it go up the board to keep treating people who need my help.

chapter #7:marriage baby

it's been 3 weeks since we last saw the E.R crew; Abby and Carter are doing great, Gallant and Neela are engaged, Ray is same old same old, Luka was really messed up for a week but then he started hooking up with a surgical nurse named Sara. Since then he seemed really happy and well it weird that everyone is happy at the same time. Abby and Carter are coming out of the lounge hand in hand and Abby has something in her finger, Susan was at the admit desk and she noticed the ring when Abby reached for a chart.

"Abby.... what's that on your finger?"

Abby looks at her finger like if she didn't even noticed she had it

"oh, this?"(she points to the ring)

Susan looks like she's gonna have a heart attack when she saw where the ring was

"it's an engagement ring"

Carter saw where this was going so he excused himself and went to see a patient but he staid around to see Susan's face

"Abby!"

Susan screamed and hug her , she was so exited her mind was already seeing the wedding in her mind

"oh, it's gonna be so cute, you in a white dress, walking down the aisle and carter in a tux..."

she started laughing at this thought

"you know? he's cute on a tux"

"who does?"

Luka asked

"Carter, 'cause he and Abby are getting married!!!!!"

"Susan , can you say it a little lauder I don't think India heard you!"

"CARTER AND...."

Abby put her hand in her mouth to shut her up and Susan started laughing her ass off.

"congrats, and why are you guys getting married so soon?"

Luka asked and Abby froze for a bit then she looked away and said

"because.... I'm pregnant"

"congratulations!"

Susan screamed, luka was in shock

"so when did you quys find out?"

"last week"

FLASHBACK:

Abby and Carter were in Abby's apartment having pizza and snuggling in the couch watching t.v when Abby looked at him in the eyes and said:

"Carter..."

"yeah?"

he looked up to her

"I'm pregnant"

he stayed silent processing the news

"are you keeping it?"

"yes"

"good"

"you're not mad?"

"why should I be mad? the woman who I love is carrying my child... I'm Happy not mad"

she got closer to him and hugged him

"I love you, you know that right?"

he kissed the top of her head and said:

"yes, and I love you too Abby"

END OF FLASHBACK

"how far along are you??"

luka asked a bit upset

"about 2 weeks or so"

"congratulations"

he said before running of to the lounge

"So, can I tell everyone?"

Susan asked getting excited

"I'm not sure if we should tell yet..."

"ask Carter and get back to me ok?"

"ok"
